Requiem for a dream.

How apt. Now its happening. The path has unfolded into a worse-off scenario. I can only pray its not the path u desired. =

Yest i went my aunties hse for dinner. My dad had already left and it was just me eating the remnants of the dinner with my aunt and uncle. Both of them are unmmaried and they intend to live and support each other till old. And it has been like this since my grandmother passed away. then we were watching condor heroes and i was prepared to leave already.

Then came this boy, i must say boy becos he's confirm in his secondary school days, selling ice-cream. Except that he's not from any specific ice-cream company, walls or whatever. And he was trying to get us to buy one even though we flatly declined. I had no appetite for any ice-cream, and my aunt and uncle are in their mid-50s and they are pretty health-conscious. Plus my uncle is mild-diabetic as well. But the boy had a slang in his speech which obviously showed he's not local, but he was rather persistent that we have to buy one of it, and he sounded real pathetic. That kind if we dont buy, he will commit suicide right in front of us and make us guilty that kind, the irritating persistent salesman.

Then i was like alrite, maybe i just buy one and munch on my way home. Besides my uncle said he will buy one for me and i thought got free-ice cream why not. I sorta symphatise with him ( shall be elaborated later ) and agreed. Then he brought one big chunk of the ice-cream, that kind u will buy 1 dollar accompanied with bread or biscuits. BUT it was the original big chunk. WTF. So it was this kinda ice-cream he was talking abt. He dont have the mainstream type of ice-cream, plus its one big CHUNK? Plus it is $10.30, a hefty price, but my uncle is a very shui2 bian4 person and he still went off with his promise. The ice-cream is not even a local brand, its called EVERGREEN, and his "tow-truck" was just a trolley with a big styrofoam box and put ice in it. Plus he only had four flavours for me to choose from. Oh man, i was just aiya, just give me the chocolate then.

ONE BIG CHUNK OF ICECREAM BACK HOME. I tugged it back, and knowing that i have to CUT IT MYSELF and eat it with my bread. SO MUCH BLOODY HASSLE.

The reason why i didnt reject him straight away even though as a consumer i could becos i had the right to see what i was buying and verify my interest in it b4 i buy anything.

He was so happy when we said we wanted to buy it. He sounded so desperate and i dont want to pour cold water on him. $10.30 for one big chunk of ice-cream u know, hu the hell in the world buys this. Secondly, it was a sunday night, and he was still working alone summore, which meant it had been a tiring day for him. plus because he doesnt look local, he might be just trying to make ends meet, or just trying to earn an extra dollar for his pocket $ over the june hols. I totally understand because i work at grand hyatt as a waiter during my december hols last year. The feeling of trying to earn that measly amt of money while sweating like and and getting urself dirty and whatever, even a few cents mattered. Everyone would want to see their day end on a fruitful note, and the boy would not be of any exception.

I just walked back thinking abt it the whole night. Its unfair sumtimes this bloody world.

Some people are just born plain lucky,
they get what they want,
Everything is going right for them.

Some people are just unlucky,
they screw things up,
they keep getting jack-ed.
